Job Responsibilities for Business Analyst:

As the Project Analyst, your primary responsibility is to ensure the successful achievement of key results according to the project plan. This involves analyzing current business systems and processes, generating ideas, and formulating recommendations. You will provide support to project members to facilitate decision-making within project scope and timelines.

You will be responsible for implementing or contributing to the implementation of effective processes to assess project risks, identify risk mitigation strategies, and monitor risk throughout the project lifecycle. Regularly updating the Manager/Team Lead on project progress and any associated risks is essential

Your expertise in project management will be crucial in reviewing, analyzing, and defining current and future state processes. You will also contribute to the development of specifications and testing for system modifications and installations.

Providing user support, advice, and orientation is another important aspect of your role. This includes developing content for training modules and delivering training to system users and department staff. Additionally, you will maintain various business processes, policies, and procedures, as well as reference documentation such as user instructions, manuals, and reference materials.

Qualifications for Business Analyst Job:

To excel in this role, you should have a Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Science, Computer Science, or a related discipline, along with at least five (5) years of recent related experience, including project planning, analysis, and implementation. Previous experience in the Public Service and Health Sector will be an asset.

Your demonstrated ability to carry out business process mapping and fit gap analysis will be essential. Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills are crucial, as you will be dealing with multiple groups and issues simultaneously.

Superior analytical, problem-solving, and system analysis skills are required to address project challenges effectively. You must have a proven track record of planning and executing projects with strict timelines and working collaboratively as part of a team.

Your ability to provide professional expertise and guidance in project management to staff, departments, and IMITS stakeholders will be essential to support successful project outcomes. Demonstrated skills in providing user support, advice, training, and user liaison services are highly valued.

Skills & Knowledge that business analysts should have

As an organization committed to creating lasting and meaningful reconciliation in Canada, knowledge of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC, 2015) and BC’s Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (2019) is important. Business analyst job.
