Responsibilities:
- Perform detailed analysis of corporate actions, including mergers, acquisitions, dividends, and income claims, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with relevant regulations.
- Leverage expertise in Corporate Actions and systems (e.g., Broadridge BPS, DTC, and CDS) to evaluate audit points and improve existing processes.
- Manage risk in corporate actions and entitlements processing through effective procedures, management controls, and regular review and challenge of procedures.
- Stay informed about evolving regulatory requirements in the capital markets and ensure strict compliance with these regulations in executing corporate actions.
- Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to interpret and implement regulatory changes affecting corporate actions.
- Maintain corporate actions data using industry-standard systems, such as Broadridge and DTC, ensuring accuracy and integrity.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and accurate processing of Corporate Actions.
- Facilitate communication and collaboration between internal and external stakeholders, utilizing internal systems/EUCs to streamline processes and resolve discrepancies.
- Identify and assess potential risks associated with corporate actions, utilizing expertise in risk management and knowledge of relevant systems.
- Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to prevent breaks and avoid potential risks.
- Prepare comprehensive reports and documentation related to corporate actions, communicating event details, impacts, and resolutions to stakeholders.
- Organize and maintain a repository of corporate actions records and documentation.
Qualifications:
- Legal eligibility to work and reside in Canada is a must.
- College or University degree, preferably in Business or Finance.
- 2-4 years of experience as a Business Analyst.
- Experience with the Corporate Action Life Cycle.
- Strong knowledge of processing systems related to corporate actions/entitlements.
- Prior experience with Broadridge and DTS/CTS Depository.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to negotiate and interact professionally with various stakeholders.
- Demonstrated knowledge of analytical problem-solving and process engineering techniques.
- Result-oriented, deadline-driven, and self-motivated.
- Prior Banking Experience is an asset.
- Previous Capital Markets knowledge is a strong asset.
